MINIGOLF WEATHER FORECAST
Conceptual minigolf course
Leitrim Sculpture Centre/Ireland, 2018
People love to talk about the weather. It’s a safe way to get in touch with strangers and, even if the topic might seem mundane, to get to know something about their personality.
The minigolf weather forecast is a homage to small talks, randomness and weather reporters. Because the weather circumstances play a big role in our life, they legitimately deserve attention. During our artist residency at the Leitrim Sculpture Centre, Ireland, Paloma Sanchez-Palencia and I transformed the gallery space into a series of minigolf courses. The rules of the game are well-known: visitors passed all of the courses and noted how many strokes they needed for each hole. In the end, they returned to the gallery counter where the artists evaluated their performance and handed out a personalized weather forecast for tomorrow.
